The start of something new

Year 2008 was a great year for me and my family. Yes, we have some difficulties, problems, discomforts but all of these were overshadowed by the great love of God, Swthrt, our kids - JM and Josh, parents, brothers and sisters, best friends, churchmates and all the people who have supported us, encouraged us, and guided us.

Year 2008 ushered in to a new found interest, running! Middle of the year marked my entry into the world of running. It also gave way to meeting new friends through joining races and blogging my adventures in training, the races I joined, and the insights in running the race of life.

As we start the year 2009, God reminded us through the message delivered in our church, Hosanna, in starting the year right. Not only wishing to make it a better year, or trying to correct the wrong of the previous year, or making resolutions for improvements but changing our hearts and minds as we truly trust and obey our Lord Jesus Christ.

“Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.” - Romans 12:1-2

I pray that this year will be a year of trusting and obeying our Lord Jesus Christ that I may not only run a good race but to finish it strong through the grace of God!

“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.”
- Hebrews 12:1-3 (New International Version)
